Alvaro’s passion to serve and educate others has led to many amazing projects. In collaboration with organizations from Baltimore Maryland, Brooklyn New York, and Washington DC Alvaro coordinated and launched a 3 city community service project, offering free gifts, activities and free food. Alvaro also collaborated with Author and NPR Correspondent Tom Gjelten in the book “A nation of nations: A great American immigration story”
Prior to becoming a mentor and business owner, Alvaro worked in the non-profit sector for over a decade providing counseling services to individuals and families. As a leader, Alvaro has trained educators, counselors, therapists, and executives in social emotional development, effective team development, substance use education, family reunification, violence prevention, program management, and curriculum development. Alvaro has acquired an extensive amount of knowledge working with people from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. Alvaro is also fluent in Spanish and his expertise expands beyond the non-profit sector, including law enforcement, project management, and small business development. Alvaro’s unique skill set has been developed through his work in multiple states from California to Washington, DC.
As Founder of Impel, he is committed to helping create a world of radiant human beings that are actively manifesting their dreams and gifts into reality. Alvaro and his team do this through Impel’s private youth mentoring program, youth substance prevention/intervention program, gang prevention and education program, professional development trainings, and community presentations.
