Program Overview
Mentoring is a partnership between the Mentor and the Mentee in a semi-structured and creative process that inspires the client to maximize personal potential. It is designed to facilitate the creation/development of personal goals and to develop and carry out a strategy/plan for achieving those goals. Negative influences continue to have negative effects on individuals, families, and communities across the country. Our mission is to empower and equip people to achieve a successful life, through our comprehensive, multi-cultural, and innovative program. We aim to address social-emotional stability, inspire, and challenge youth to live healthy happy lives. We aim to accomplish the following:
- Teach new and relatable methodology to create a safe non-judgmental environment
- Provide strategies to prevent and minimize negative behavior including reduction of substance use
- Enhance resiliency to combat social pressures
- Increase the perception of adult support
- Strengthen family dynamics
- Improve parent communication
We aim to have youth more equip to handle real-world complexities such as digital pressures, online presence, modern age stress, and self-identity. By accelerating a youth’s self-esteem and promoting community through our strength base approach young people will be able to develop healthy help seeking behaviors which leads to healthy, happy, balanced young people. The program is for middle school and high school students in 7th through 12th grade.”
